Dan Plasma in the Mission

Mission District
15th and Valencia
This is the side wall of restaurant Pica Pica.  Dan Plasma had originally painted a tiger mural on this wall, then over the course of a few days other aerosol muralists covered it over with their work.  This made Mr. Plasma rather angry, so when he took the wall back he commemorated the little war with this piece.

Interesting…..a little too chaotic for my taste, but now I understand why.

A very impressive mural, too bad he had to repaint.

I have never even heard of garlic yucca fries…if I ever get to SF again I will have to try them. We certainly don’t serve them in the deep south.

BTW, great mural. I like the chaos. Keeps the eye moving.

I’m fascinated by this work, and had to enlarge each one. I like that you photographed it in pieces and close-ups. you’ve superbly captured the flavor of the district. I’ve never heard of garlic yucca fries either, but my mouth is watering simply thinking of them. happy day to you LPE.

I love the shots with those colorful tables and chairs in front of the mural…they give some perspective on the size of those murals and the colors go so well with it! Would love to sit there and try some of those yucca fries!
